Day 19- Nicknames you have; why do you have them

Let's do it this way: I'm telling all the names I got growing up.

When I was in Grade School, I got called a lot of names because stupid kids thought my last name(maiden name) sounded funny.

My maiden surname is: "Cariola", so I got called different names.

For example:
Arinola - Which, in English, means toilet.
Crayola - The brand of those wax-things we use to color images.
Karyoka - A Filipino sweet rice flour delicacy.

Even my childhood nickname wasn't spared. My nickname was/is: "Tin-tin", so, at one point, I got called this:

(just remove the n's and read it as it is) - Which, in English, means the male reproductive organ.

I guess nobody is really spared from the horrors of name-calling. The thing with me though was that they never meant to bully me. They just thought my family name was funny. I dunno.

At some point in high school, my dad christened me with 'Tins' and I thought it was cool and started introducing myself using my new nickname. The name stuck I'd been Tins for 14 years now. My husband calls me other names, too. But that's another story for another time.

Time for bed! I wake up at 2AM to prepare my husband's "dinner" when he comes home!
