"Live each day in a day-tight container." - Og Mandino, 'The Spellbinder's Gift'
My blog name, "Daily Habits of an Effective Me" is more of a call to myself; a reminder to make each day productive...by my own standards, thus the "Never let anyone rain on your parade" tagline.
There are a lot of books making suggestions on how to make a person's life more meaningful or more productive. I say, the only person who would know how to make a better person out of me is, well, me. I know the difference between what's generally good and what's generally bad. And boy do I know what's going to be good or bad for me.
A person doesn't have to do anything big to make monumental changes right away. A person can start by doing the things he or she has been putting off for some time.
One thing I've finally started doing is to shed some weight. I've just recently been to my Ob-Gyn because I had been having lady problems. Turns out, one of the reasons why I had been having those problems was that I've loaded on more weight than I would normally have. My husband and I have been laying off rice for two weeks now, going easy on the sweets and the junk, and walking some afternoons to shed weight. I'm hoping to lose enough to get me back to normal.
I've also started working on our wedding album scrapbook. My husband and I got hitched February 5 of this year and since then I had been putting off making even a dent on the plan. four months later, however, I have come to realize that the scrapbook won't make itself. I'm hoping to get this done before our birthdays in September. Wish me luck!
I used to live by someone else's standards. But as time passed, I've learned to just take everything in stride, try not to worry about yesterday or tomorrow, so that I can make Tins today a productive Tins.
